You can’t even watch Bachelor in Paradise without someone popping up and telling you why they’re the best / the other side is terrible / everything is crap. I mean, how is this Political Reporter meant to unwind with all these politicians everywhere?
I’m not the only one getting cranky about it – heaps of you have been getting in touch asking why politicians can send you unsolicited text messages and target you on social media.
The good news is the blackout laws that stop political parties from advertising close to polling day come into play at midnight tonight. But these rules only take into account heritage or traditional media – that is radio, television, newspapers and magazines.
So what does this mean for social media and online advertising, and does political advertising even work?
